My name is Debbie. I am a 40-something wife & mom who lives in the Midwest with her husband and kids. My hubby & I met during our college years in the early 90’s and we now have 3 kids ages 5, 9, & 11.
I also have a 28 year old son, Mikhael, who is married to a lovely young woman, Kendra, and this year (2017) I will technically become a grandmother. All the typical grandma names were already taken, so I get to be called “Gigi“.
I gave birth to Mikhael at the age of 18, 2 days after graduating from High School. I chose to give my son up for adoption for a number of reasons – and I am currently rewriting this story so be sure to subscribe to my blog updates so you don’t miss a post!
Becoming and being a wife & mom has been my life’s journey. As a child I was infatuated with babies, and children, and the way God has us continue on, generation after generation. I think God gives us the ability to become parents – in part – to continue His work in the garden of our hearts. I am constantly faced with my own selfishness and desire for control – and it is NOT easy for me to parent because of it.
The stories I share are hard sometimes, painful sometimes, and even embarrassing sometimes. But I know He is doing his work in me. Because He is taking me on a journey where I am Finding Grace and Glory.
For the LORD God is a sun and shield.
The LORD gives grace and glory;
He does not withhold the good from those who live with integrity.
