Blog Rewind: Amazon Prime and Why You Should Try It Free for 30 Days

This is part THREE of a Three Part series I originally posted when my links were not working. I thought I would repost them with updated links so you can read them. A lot of people look to save money on cable and want to know some alternatives. I thought I would share our experience with you here! Enjoy – and let me know what you think!

I am a HUGE fan of .  I have found some of the best deals there, some items that cannot be found anywhere else, and I am downloading (mostly free) e-books to my Kindle reader on a weekly basis.  I think I visit almost daily – so checking out Amazon Prime came somewhat naturally to me.

Because is not limited solely to books, it can become an all-purpose website.  But ordering from can become pricey when multiple items are shipped from separate places.  Shipping costs can really affect the price overall of the products available online, right?

Enter Amazon Prime!

Amazon Prime not only offers over 40,000 movies and TV episodes, and to borrow (FREE!) from the Kindle Owners Lending Library, it also offers FREE Two-Day shipping with no minimum order size on eligible items!

If you are a regular customer of, but not a member of Amazon Prime, now might be the time to try the program for FREE for 30 days!  If you order books, groceries, electronics or other items from Amazon even just once a month, Amazon Prime can save on shipping costs for thousands of eligible items.  You should note: There are some exclusions to this, so you have to check the item page to verify that free 2-day shipping is an option for the item you wish to purchase!

The FREE option is truly free for 30 days and you will not be charged if you try it, don’t like it, and cancel the membership before the 30 days are up.

If you are shopping for back-to-school items, Amazon is a GREAT resource!  You can find some great deals on school supplies and electronics, and the eligible items will get you free shipping so you don’t have to deal with the crowds while wrangling your three kids!

Being able to borrow a book on my Kindle is really awesome, too!  It is like checking a book out of the library on my Kindle.  And it was a piece of cake to figure out, so that was a bonus, too.  If I don’t like it, I can return it and check out a different book.  AWESOME!

If you like to shop online and haven’t signed up for Amazon Prime, give it a spin for 30 days for *F*R*E*E – if you don’t like it, cancel your membership and use Amazon as you normally would.   Click any link in this post to sign up for Amazon Prime for 30 days for Free.  And let me know how you like it or what you think of the program!

* Amazon affiliate links are definitely used in this post!

Got Fleas?

So just a few weeks ago, we had the dreaded “a case of lice in your child’s classroom” letter come home.

ewwwwww! {shudder} I can handle a ton of gross & disgusting things – but bugs on the body – just the thought makes me hyperventilate.

Ticks. Spiders. Leeches. lice. ACK! “Monsters Inside Me” is like my very worst nightmare.

So I had to check the girls heads for a couple of days, then again more recently because there is a rebound effect. 10 days or so. So I checked again and thankfully so far it’s all clear. Which is good because Curly has a very thick head of hair plus a tender scalp. It makes for difficult hair care already. Checking for lice just kicks it up a notch.

Guest Post: The Heart of Spiritual Warfare

[box type=”info”] I am SO very excited to feature a guest post from Kristine McGuire. I “met” Kristine online via a book review of her book, (now republished) Escaping the Cauldron. Kristine is a Christian woman, a former witch and medium, and an excellent writer. I have been repeatedly moved by her story and her willingness to address issues that some Christians shy away from. I’m very honored to share her with you here.[/box]
