It’s Friday – Grab a BIG Cup!

Hello Company Gals and good friends & readers! Grab a bagel and pass your mug – I’ve got some great coffee and flavored creamer this morning! We got about 3″ of snow overnight, so we’re bundling up this morning!

Can you believe it’s Friday? It really is true:

Time Flies when you’re having Fun!

And I’ve had a fun week! I can’t really think of anything remarkable to share, it’s just been a mostly uplifting, positive, good week – and I’m gonna give God all the credit!

Despite some of the heavier topics we looked at this week, it’s been a good journey for me. I don’t know about you, but it really helps me to have word-pictures and to be able to relate to real women who have lived before us – and there’s been some good interaction from you this week, too – so thanks!

Next week, I’m gonna talk about some grocery-savings & tips, and start tackling marriage a bit more directly. I can tell you I’m NO EXPERT on marriage – I have NOT arrived at Proverbs 31 status – but being a wife is the second most important relationship in my life. Or at least it SHOULD be, according to God’s scheme of things.

I’m enjoying my reprieve from schoolwork, and am very pleased to report that I got an “A” in both classes! I was surprised since I submitted my paper at the very last possible second after writing it – but both of the classes – Issues in Counseling and Counseling for Women – really had a beneficial effect on me personally, and I’m looking forward to the 2 classes I’ll be taking this summer. I hope to share more information I learned from these classes – not just about addiction – but about a variety of things that touch our lives.

Getting the house under control this week has been a bit of a struggle. Roy & I have enjoyed some later-than-normal nights watching TV and talking and cuddling, but BOTH of the girls have been waking up bright & shiny at 5:30 or so every morning. Needless to say – we’re tired! =) Every time I try to take a nap, a list of 5 or 10 things runs through my head that needs to be done, so yesterday and today I’m getting things BACK IN ORDER so I can relax and take some naps this weekend! I highly recommend naps, myself… I got caught up on laundry yesterday, got the bathroom cleaned – so today is just getting things in order for our weekend.

We’ve got a few house projects to work on – and we’ve had loads of stuff hauled off so we’re getting things cleaned out. We also got some new living room furniture – and that has been a HUGE blessing for us. We are much more comfortable in our living room and have a sectional so we can all sit together. It’s been great!

Hope you all have a LOVELY weekend. I have never celebrated Palm Sunday in any special way, but it is a day to remember. Our church is performing “Yeshua” this weekend, and I’ve already cried being told about just one scene to come… Easter is the best day to celebrate EVER. Our risen Lord and Saviour is just really awesome. To know the sufferings He endured for the likes of me is more powerful and moving than anything else in this life. Praise be to Jesus for His meekness – the ability to control His power – to suffer death to bring us eternal life.

Sounds like a good week! Congrats on your A’s, I think that is a benefit of going back to school “grown up” my hubby, who struggled through his bachelor’s degree, graduated with his MBA with a 4.0 average!

Good job on all your completed projects, and just think, you can take a good, long nap in 15 or 20 years when all the kids are gone! 🙂

Happy Friday and Easter is my favorite, hands-down! I’m not a mushy kinda girl, but Easter always just pulls and tugs at my heart and soul. What He did for us is just so amazing, I can’t wrap my brain around it, so I accept it the best I can and am so grateful.

Good job on your As!!!! Woohoo! I love naps and have missed them for a few months since the girls don’t nap at the same time anymore. =( And I can’t do powernaps. I am just not reenergized after 20 minutes. Makes me groggy. Have a nice weekend, and take a break when you can.

My hubby and I tend to stay up later than we should when we’re on holidays..or even it’s just Friday night…we usually pay for it though…whenever you have kids, you always end up having to do for them during the day and never have time to rest…..one of these days we’ll learn!

Congratulations on your A’s!! Your hard work paid off!
I second the idea on naps! I’m all about a good nap these days.
I can’t believe it’s almost Easter again. I love Easter and I always let it sneak up on me. I always make “Resurrection Cookies” with the kids the night before Easter Sunday. Love it because each step has a verse and then an action which keeps the kids attention as they learn what Jesus did for us that first Easter so long ago. One step is putting pecans in a Ziploc, letting the kids beat the nuts to break them up. We read the scripture that tells about how the soldiers beat Jesus. Once the cookies are mixed and placed on the cookie sheet you put them in the heated oven turn the oven off and put tape to “seal” the oven. In the a.m. the kids are excited to unseal the oven and take the cookies out. When you bite into them they are hollow and we talk about the empty tomb. Lots of fun.
Hope you’re having a great weekend!
